Inspired and equipped by the Holy Spirit, our vision is to see WMBC emerge as a community of believers committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, standing beside the broken, serving the spiritually and physically poor, and doing all of this with character, compassion, courage and creativity.
We embrace Jesus Christ as the center of our convictions. He is the Saviour of the world, Revelation of God, Head of the Church, Model of Discipleship and Lord over all.
We commit to using the Bible as God’s inspired Word. Through the Holy Spirit this collection of stories, letters, poems and accounts can transform our lives from exploring realities about Jesus Christ, to believing in Jesus Christ, to living a life with Jesus Christ as its center.
We advance God’s Kingdom by projecting an outward focus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Church is God’s ongoing presence in the world and we are at our best when serving, sacrificing and loving. God’s heart is for the personal salvation of the world as well as the physical, emotional, social and economic needs of people everywhere. We recognize needs and opportunities, locally and globally, where we can become partners with God where He is at work to save the world.
We celebrate communion with God. We are created to honour and enjoy God in all that we do, so that worship becomes a life style, more than an event. Praise is our response to God’s worth, and is a conscious choice in good times and difficult times. Prayer, both individual and corporate, is critical to listen for God’s direction and to align our plans with God’s will. Together with inspired teaching from God’s word, these are essential parts of this communion relationship.
We cultivate life lived in community with others. This is what Christ intended and what He prayed for. Through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, each person becomes an integral part of the “body”. We work, pray, confess, suffer and celebrate together.
