Really, our GO Missionaries, do in the places where they have been sent, what the WMBC family is committed to doing here in Winkler. We are all committed to lead people to passionately love and follow Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. What’s special about these people is the transparent quality of their lives, which allows the beauty of Jesus to be seen in them. That’s why we trust them to represent us and what we stand for wherever they live and work.

Brian and Clarissa Krahn have been serving as missionaries with their three children in Guaymas, Mexico since 2010. They started an orphanage in 2014 that is situated in a rural area with an orchard of 1400 citrus trees. The orphanage is called “Ministerios Ancla de Amor” which means, “Anchor of Love Ministries”. The orchard serves as a means of additional income for daily expenses by producing orange juice that is sold locally. The orchard and ranch setting also provides the children with new opportunities for learning life skills.

Children come to the orphanage from abusive and impoverished homes. They carry with them many emotional scars. With time and by the grace of God they learn what love is and enjoy the family setting of the orphanage. They also learn about Jesus and are told that they are no longer orphans because they have a heavenly Father who loves them very much. It is Brian and Clarissa’s prayer that every child at the orphanage will come to know Jesus as their Saviour; and God is answering that prayer.

Cliff works at Youth for Christ Winnipeg. After working with the Edge Skatepark (a ministry of YFC Winnipeg) for 15 years, in 2016 Cliff was promoted to new position of Senior Ministry Supervisor. In this role Cliff works to support and coach many other ministry directors and staff as they develop their programs for reaching youth with the message of Christ in the inner city of Winnipeg. Some of these programs include the Edge Skatepark, Samsons Gym, the Climbing Wall, Floor Hockey and Soccer leagues, Teen Moms, and the Atrium drop-in program. Cliff works to help these ministry directors find successful ways to sustain thriving ministries. Some of his supervision work includes: program visioning and implementation, personal and ministry fundraising, spiritual health, encouraging a good work and home life balance, developing a strong volunteer base, and helping the staff work through difficult situations they encounter with troubled youth.
Krista stays home with their three children, and also creating art to sell at various craft fairs throughout the year. She is also active in their Winnipeg church, leading worship, coordinating the Worship-Arts team, and preaching occasionally.
